A Reflection On 2020

A Reflection On 2020

A lot can be said about 2020. The virus, the election, the civil unrest, the fact that we still have far to go for that perfect union our founders envisioned back in 1776, but one thing that was reinforced for me, the importance of community and shared experiences. New Year's Eve was a muted celebration with a few neighbors, socially distanced, ending well before the ball dropped. We were all fortunate to have kept our livelihoods and are still in reasonably good health. We all bemoaned the fact of missing the celebrations such as St Patrick's Day parades, music festivals, family gatherings and travel to see loved ones. While none of us would be considered wealthy, we are all well off enough to enjoy a few of the nicer things in life. We all have "enough", even toilet paper. It was those experiences with family and friends that we missed. Those rituals, large and small, and that perhaps took for granted. Looking forward to their return, and hopefully that they can help cure, or at least ameliorate some of the other ills plaguing our society.

To A Healthier & Happier 2021
